Reflection on feedforward
Feedforward, that has been a new word for me since starting the Master of Education in Applied Digital Learning program at Lamar University. So, you may ask what is the difference between feedforward and feedback?
Well, I don’t know about you, but I am very familiar with feedback. Even if it is considered constructive feedback, it always seems a little negative. Most people see it or feel like when we are given feedback it’s because we have made a mistake in some way in the past and how/what we need to do to correct it. However, if we are in the correct mindset, the growth mindset, feedforward is used for the future, we take it and use it to improve in the future. We look at feedforward as something positive instead of negative and we use it to improve something we do in the future. I look at it as growth, I am learning and growing for the feedforward. When someone gives me feedforward, I look at it as if they are trying to help guide me so I can reach my full potential.
