As I approach the final weeks of my Masters of Education in the Applied Digital Learning program through Lamar University, I reflect on my learning experience by examining my strengths, weaknesses, and contributions. I believe that self-assessment is essential for ongoing growth. I am profoundly grateful for the support and connections I have forged with my peers throughout this program. They have been instrumental to my success and have helped me become a better version of myself. I don't think I would have made it without their support.
My self-assessments are as follows:
-
Course 5315-98
-
Course 5320- 97
My learning community consisted of several members but my main collaborators for both courses (5315 & 5320) consisted of: Samara Marin, Anna Gonzalez, and Maria Montemayor.

Microsoft Teams proved to be an excellent platform for facilitating discussions within my learning community. I was a member of several different groups throughout the program. Every group member contributed in one way or another, providing feedback, sharing links for meetings, answering questions, and viewing each other's work. This term, we also had participants from a different program, which helped broaden my perspectives.
Attending live sessions led by Dr. Harapnuik and Dr. Meeuwse this term significantly enriched my learning journey. These sessions provided crucial insights into our assignments and were incredibly valuable for addressing questions. If I was unable to attend a meeting, I reviewed the recording and reached out to my peer groups for further clarification.
I enhanced both my own learning and that of my classmates by actively participating in all activities. I was active with contributions to various course forums, ensuring timely posts to facilitate responses. I regularly checked for replies to my discussion posts, as well as emails, chats, and team pages. I adhered to APA formatting and properly cited references in my work and discussions.
Comments and suggestions from my groups on my assignments were considered and incorporated before submission. I completed all readings, watched all videos, met all course deadlines and engaged with all additional resources, ensuring a thorough understanding for all discussions and assignments. This comprehensive approach significantly enhanced my learning experience. Our groups were mutually supportive, and I was always ready to assist others.
I recognize that actively seeking more opportunities for collaboration and interaction can greatly enhance my impact within the community.
While I’ve made strides in group work, I still often revert to my habit of working alone. I need to be more proactive in offering help, even when it hasn't been directly requested. Growth and improvement are always possible in all aspects of life. I will continue to keep an open mind and embrace a growth mindset throughout my journey. I've learned that collaboration generates a wealth of ideas, sparking new insights and potentially steering our work in new directions. I've found immense value in the groups we've formed in this program.
